Payments and Billing
At Aura, we accept self-pay (out-of-network) and Aetna and Cigna insurance. If self-pay is the option you choose, you will be provided with a "superbill" that you can submit to your insurance as out-of-network care. A superbill is a detailed summary of services that your insurance can accept and apply to your out-of-network deductible so that the cost you are contributing can still be accounted for and reimbursed. Reimbursement is dependent on your insurance company. Contact your insurance for information regarding cost if using insurance or reimbursement rates if submitting a superbill.
To submit your Superbill, follow these easy steps!
1
Receiving Your Superbill
After paying for your service, your counselor will create and send a superbill to your email that you provide. This superbill details the type of service you received, the fee for services, the date, other relevant information, as well as your therapist's information.
2
Submitting Your Superbill
Each insurance company functions a bit differently in how they prefer to receive superbills. Some might have a portal for you to upload documents while others might prefer mail-in. Contact your insurance company to determine their desired processes for submitting superbills.
3
Reimbursement
Once you submit a superbill, your insurance company will determine the rate in which they will reimburse. This is individualized for each person and insurance company. Contact your insurance company to inquire about their reimbursement rate for out-of-network mental health services.
